July 6...

Hey Kanakuk Moms and Dads,
I cannot believe some of you are on your way to get your kiddos in the next day or so! Crazy! I know today you will recieve an email from Joe about some changes due to our little "germ" that has somewhat come to K2. Thanks for being the best parents in the whole wide world! Here is the run-down of the day!

Verse: Joshua 1:9: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Morning: The girl kampers this morning worked on the Carnival some more...finishing up dances, banners, and the games.

Afternoon: We actually do the Carnival for the boys. The girls had a couple of periods of classes but this day is mostly dedicated to Carnival.

Night: CARNIVAL! The Kiowas and Kickapoos were priceless! The two themes of Carnival were Kiowas = Jock Jams and Kickapoos = Madagascar. Both were just awesome!!

July 5...

Hey Kanakuk Parents and Friends,
I cannot believe it's almost time for our Term 3 kiddos to leave! Great thing about today is that it's SUNDAY!! Sundays at K2 are just the best! Sleep in, koffee kake, I'm 3rd Sunday with Joe, and long R&R for everyone! It's just awesome!

Verse: Romans 6:12: "Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires."

Morning: The guys and gals of K2 got to sleep in this morning and then headed up for koffee kake!! Yummy! Joe White spoke at K2 church about having the "I'm 3rd" spirit and that message is always such a great heart check. It sounds so easy but what if we really lived each day, each moment with placing the Lord first, other second, and ourselves last! Man what a different world we would live in!

Afternoon: We had CHILLAX day at K2. It was awesome! We have a floating dock in our lake that the kids could float out to to get soda (I say coke but I realize it's more options than coke). We also had fresh fruit and sno cones at the pool and we had trams (people movers) to take the kids from the dock to the pool if they wanted to. It was just awesome cabin hang time!

Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT: Tonight is on PURITY! Joe White will be sharing and he really brings it! I really feel like this year we are stressing not just an emotional night, because emotional nights with the Lord aren't bad, but really stressing the lifestyle of living each day for the Lord. It's so worth it!

July 4...

Hey Kanakuk Parents,
I love July 4th at K2!!! At the end of fireworks we all stand and sing...oh, I just wish you could all be here!!! :) Today was a fun/laid back day, especially for our staff. Here is the download:
Verse: 2 Timothy 2:2: "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others."
Morning: Well, today started Carnival Practice. Carnival is a long standing tradition from the beginning days of K2. Our K2 Princesses come up with a theme and put on a carnival for the guy kampers. It's kickapoo versus kiowa to see who can win carnival. The girls all are in groups in each tribe for prizes, banner painting, dancing, etc. So that was your girls' morning.
Afternoon: We had optional period (the girls can go to the pool, tennis courts, adventure area, hang out in the church or backwoods.
Night: SENIOR CITIZEN SHINDIG + JULY 4TH + LECRAE IN CONCERT = TOTAL MADNESS!!! Our night was packed! We not only had an awesome K2 party but then also surprised the kampers with a LeCrae concert (LeCrae is the christian rapper who is big time and he started at KAA and loves coming to K2 to do concerts! Our kampers love him!!!). Then we finished the night we a 30-40 minute fireworks show that was incredible!!!!! Wow!!

July 3...

Hey Kanakuk Moms and Dads,
Well, one day away from July 4th!!! I love July 4th at Kamp. Today was great with a little cooler day! The weather has been wonderful! Here is the low-down on the day for you.

Verse: 2 Timothy 4:5: "But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."

Morning/Afternoon: Well, these words are seriously so nice to type...IT WAS A NORMAL DAY! The schedule was so fun and all our specialties from what I can tell are going great! Triathlete is what I coach each day so I am obviously a little biased to that :)! But moms and dads have no fear that all the other specialties have incredible coaches!!!

Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT!! Tonight Adam, a guy on the leadership team, is talking about Living Free. Pretty cool talk about walking in the freedom of Christ!

Moms and Dads, these are all the Term 2 kitchies! The kitchies are 24 precious precious gals that we hire from all around the nation! They come and serve the food at each meal, get adopted by a cabin to love and do ministry, get discipled by a gal on our leadership team, and just bring such joy to K2. They are my heroes!!!! Love them so much! Here is me with them all!
A fun cabin hanging at the party!
Everyone going crazy at the party! LOVE this picture!
Me and a precious K2 gal dancing away at the party! This is my job! Woohoo!

July 2...

Hey Parents and Friends,
I seriously cannot believe July 2nd is here! My 4 months of my job are flying by! Before Shay and I know it we will be moving back to Branson to begin the 9 months of our job for Kanakuk...but that makes me miserable to think about because I love summer time with all my friends so much! I was thinking today as I told someone my age (a mere 28 years old...which I couldn't remember if I was 28 or 29) and I heard a gal say "you do not seem 28." I thought to myself, "it's because I run around in weird costumes, doing looney skits, and hanging with 13-18 year olds for a lot of my life!" AND I LOVE IT EVERY DAY!

Verse: 2 Timothy 3:16: "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness."

Morning/Afternoon: Blast of a day! We had normal schedule (except no 6th period because on Party days we don't have 6th period so we can all eat dinner together as a whole kamp).

Night: PIRATE PROM 2009 PARTY! I love the pirate prom! The kids loved it too. We had counselors having to walk the plank and a girl time to learn how to be a great pirate (example: they all were given a pirate name, worked on walking the plank, putting on pirate-y accesories, etc). We then had a pirate prom dance and boy was I sweaty at the end of the night! I love K2 parties! Kampers are reminded that you can have a blast and yet love the Lord! I love at kamp that we get to give them a glimpse that loving the Lord doesn't mean you have to be totally uncool! I love that!

Girls chillin' at the dock (love this picture!)
Some of Cabin 20 girls! They all made fun visors! So cute! Great package to send for the cabin to do together!
Ashley and Ashley! Ashley Nelson is in Triathlete with me! She's awesome!
Soccer specialty! They are legit athletes!!
Girls hanging during social time!
Me with Laura, Kady, and on the end Casie Hilton (she's on our leadership team at K2). This was right before we announced to all of kamp that Shay and I are having a girl! Woohoo! The girls went nuts!
Girls class hanging at the dock. It's either sail, canoe, or kayak class...

July 1...

Hey Parents and Friends,
(Sorry I'm behind a few days!! It's been nuts around here...in a good way!). Okay so today has been great. Here is the run down:

Verse: 1 Corinthians 12:12: "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ."

Morning: Today we start our individualized schedules. The girls each have their own printed out schedule. I love it when normal schedules begin. It gives us a sense of routine which at kamp is so nice to have a little bit of.

Afternoon: They had normal 4-6 period. The girls did all have volleyball competition between Kickapoos and Kiowas. Cabin 15 and 16 girls actually played and all the girls cheered them on! I am not sure who won...sorry!

Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT: Don Ford is speaking tonight. Don runs a ministry called AfterDark (college focused) and Pure Excitement (teenage purity focused). He has such a heart for ministry. He shared tonight about forgiveness and how the Lord sees each of them. I love this message as so many kids think they have "messed up" too much for the Lord to love them. Oh, what a lie! Don hits hard that fact that GOD LOVES THEM...no matter their past! It's awesome! I think for girls especially that have made some poor choices or walked through hard stuff that Satan, boo!, really makes us hold on to that guilt and shame. But when we walk in Christ we are washed by the blood of the Lamb! Cleaned white as snow! Man, I love that! Anyways, so I hope your girl knows that God loves her so much!

July 1...(personal...if that's okay)

Hey Moms and Dads,

Well today was a big day. I wanted to do something "personal" to simply share Shay and I's life with you all. Today we went to the doctor to have our ultrasound to find out if our first little one was a boy or girl...well, it's going to be a KANAKOMO CUTIE GIRL! We are so excited and feel so scared all at the same time. I am seeing all your daughters in a brand new light now :)!!!

Anyways, just wanted to share the fun news. Here is a picture of our precious one's face and little feet and hand (she is quite flexible). Thanks for letting me share and we would love prayers that her heart would be fully in love with the Lord and for health as she grows!

Window to OUR world,
Shay & Ashley Robbins
I am running to head up Football Competition with the tribes but will come back down and catch up from July 1-3 on pictures and information. Sorry! It's been craaaaaazzzzyyy around here!

June 30...

Hey Moms and Dads,
Today was another great day at K2. This was our last day of Higher Ground schedule so the girls' individual schedules start tomorrow.

Verse: Proverbs 11:14: "For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure."

Morning/Afternoon: Normal Higher Ground day at K2!

Night: Tribals. The Kickapoos and Kiowas got to plan out Carnival. I'll be explaining more of Carnival later. At the end of the night the whole girl side just had a fun all girls dance party! What a blast!
