July 7...

Hey Term 2/4 Parents and Friends,
Well, Term 4 13-Day parents welcome to the K2 Girls blog! I hope you enjoy this tiny snapshot to their world in real time as opposed to waiting anxiously each day for a letter to arrive! Here is the day run down:

Women of the Bible Study: None...it's changeover.
Verse: None...see above.

Morning: The term 3 kampers headed up to the K-Dome for their Awards ceremony and heading home with their parents this morning. We then welcoming 100 or so more this afternoon for Term 4! The Term 2 25 day kampers had a normal wake up but then headed to White Water (an awesome water park in Branson) for the day to chill, hang out, eat pizza, ride water slides, and just have a blast!

Afternoon: oops...see above. I got carried away during the morning section!

Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT! Dr. Joe White speaks tonight and the title of his talk is the Blindside. Joe always is the favorite and I do know his opening part involved his baby deer...a real live deer! Awesome!

Tomorrow is going to be a great day...I can feel it already!

July 6...

Hey Kanakuk Term 2/2A Parents,
Well, July 6th and that means packing has prayerfully begun! Some of you might even be on your way! Here is the day in a nutshell:

Women of the Bible Study: Ruth / Ruth 2:2-6
Verse: James 4:10

Morning: The girls worked on Karnival for the morning 3 classes to get all the final touches ready for the night...

Afternoon: We had a all girl pool party in the afternoon...after the 13 day gals were cleared to be "all packed." The girls hate the packing up part...but I'm sure they can't wait to see you and sleep in AC again!

Night: KARNIVAL/FAMILY NIGHT (13Day). Well the girls after some hard work get to put on their Karnival show for the guys side. It's so fun to watch the girls come alive as all their hard work comes to the actual performance! So fun! Also tonight Term 2a/3 parents you arrive for Family Vespers tonight. We do 90% of our closing ceremonies tomorrow morning for our mid 13 day term folks. But hopefully we will see you tonight!

July 5...

Hey Kanakuk Term 2/2A Parents,
July 5th...AGGGGHHH!! Some of you all are coming in 1 day!!! Crazy!!! We can't wait to see you all tomorrow and I am sure you are anxious to be reunited with your daughters...if you are a 25 day parent, keep hangin' in there! We will see you so soon too!

Women of the Bible Study: Sinful Woman (again, horrible name but it's all she got) / Luke 7:36-50
Verse: 2 Chronicles 7:14

Morning: 1/2 day Karnival practice this morning for the girls. Karnival is a "carnival" they put on for the guy side of K2 for tribal points for Kickapoo vs. Kiowa. It's a bit of work but they LOVE it to perform their precious dances for the boys!

Afternoon: We had 4th period packing/cabin hang time. Then for 5th and 6th period we had specialties.

Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT! Tonight Adam Donyes, a leadership guy, will be speaking to the kampers. I forget what his message is on...so sorry! We are headed out the door for some time off but will post tomorrow when I return...Thanks!

July 4...

Hey Kanakuk Term 2/2A Parents,
Well, today is my 2nd favorite holiday! JULY 4TH! I love Independence Day! Today was Sunday (I love that I type that like it's major news...It's Sunday! :) and on Sundays the kampers sleep in, have a breakfast buffet of coffee cake, it was "I'm 3rd" Sunday, extended hang time in the cabin, Chillax day (more below on this), and a Party night! Could this day be anymore unbelieveable!

Women of the Bible Study: On Sunday we let the girls do their own quiet time.
Verse: See above.

Morning: Sleep in. Optional breakfast from 9 am - 10 am. Church with Joe White. FCA Huddle groups: this is when the counselors get a "small group" time to talk about the message brought that Sunday. Lunch...

Afternoon: FOB (stands for Flat on Back, but the kids don't have to be laying there. They get to hang in their cabins, write letters, play games, laugh, just whatever). CHILLAX DAY. This is a fav day at K2. We have trams (people movers) from the dock to the pool so that the day is "totally chillax." Chillax is a combination of chill and relax! So fun! We have a floating dock in our lake that kids can float out to in life jackets to get coke (pop or soda, whichever you call it) and then at the pool we have fresh fruit, sno cones, and also our slip-n-slide open. It's an amazing day!

Night: COLOR CATASTROPHE! Tonight is our party night. The Robbins' fam missed this party last term so I'm not totally sure the details...I think they have some awesome games and then a dance party. Tonight is a bit different because we have our big Lampe Fireworks show. All 3 of the Lampe Kanakuk Kamps get together for a HUGE, like 30 minute fireworks show. It's incredible!

I hope that you all are celebrating AMERICA and not missing your precious daughters too much! We again can't say thanks enough! It's just been an incredible summer that humbles Shay and I so very much that this is our job! Wow!

Oh, yeah, trips today that are out are cabins 13 and 14 headed out to K-Wild (read back on some of my posts if you aren't sure what K-Wild is) and Cabins 15 and 16 are on their 2nd night at K-Wet. I'm sure having a ball!

July 3...

Hey Kanakuk Term 2/2A Parents and Friends,
Well, it's July 3rd...do you know what that means?? Tomorrow is July 4th! July 4th is one of my personal favorites (don't worry I already have an outfit for Lulu...actually our precious babysitter got it for her). Anyways, I don't want to ignore today but I am super pumped for tomorrow...but here is today's rundown...

Women of the Bible Study: Rebekah / Genesis 24:12-22
Verse: Philippians 2:3-8

Morning: Normal day of classes. Periods 1-3

Afternoon: Normal afternoon (so far...we have a bit of rain possibly in our radar??).

Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT! Parents, the K2 kampers get to hear from one of the greatest men in the whole world...the greatest man...SHAY ROBBINS!! Woohoo!!! I am obviously a bit biased but he is so great and such a man of the Word. No fluff, no story after story...just God's Word!

There is the day in a nutshell. Cabins 15 and 16 headed out to K-Wet today for a night and I'm srue will have a blast.
