10 Minutes and Still Nothin'...

{source}
Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Well, today my mind is literally empty. How does that happen? Especially to us girls? We always have thoughts...most of mine today just are not bloggable. They are just about dinner tonight, paint being on my watch, curtains I need to hem and wondering if I know how to set up a printer I have? Told ya...nothin' today!

So enjoy nothingness today...go free your mind! I don't even know what that means...

Soul Surfer Got Me All in Tears...

Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Okay, so the hubs was gone this weekend speaking at a Father/Son Retreat and so it was just me and the babies. We had a blast but I am a super big wimp when hubs is gone. Super big wimpy! So I rent lots of chick flicks (hubs loves this so he doesn't have to watch them) and I stay up late (okay, by late I mean 11 pm which is like an hour later than normal. I know I'm a party animal!) so I can go to sleep fast when I hit the pillow and not freak out that he's not home. Enough back story...

So I watched Soul Surfer. I know I am a bit behind considering it came out last spring but I feel like from March-ish on we are already in Kamp Season mode. Ya'll I do not know if it was because Bethany Hamilton's story is so powerful or if it was because I have 2 little babies or if it was because the Word of God was preached in this film...but I was a mess. I mean, snotty, poofy eyes, mess. I was tearing up at any part in the movie...not even the emotional ones. I just cried through the whole deal. I just thought the story was so powerful and I loved when Bethany went on the mission trip and got PERSPECTIVE of her life. It was awesome. So impressed at a young lady who stands on TRUTH and her message of hope, purpose and Jesus was awecrepic.

If you haven't seen it, go rent. If you have seen it, go rent it again.

Best Snack Ever...

{source}
Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Okay, you may laugh or think I have been living under a rock but I have just discovered the most delicious spread EVA! NUTELLA NUTELLA NUTELLA! I'm bonkers for it! If there was a mini-shovel out there that would fit in the rim of the jar I would be shoveling it down my throat! I am mildly   wildly obsessed. My favorite is on mini pretzels...I mean seriously it's like my favorite dessert. I gotta go get some right now...BRB.

Some might be wondering why this post...continue to wonder?

Are You on a Team...

Girls Leadership Team 2011...not everyone.
Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Well, continuing with my memories of K2 11 years ago with my 1st ever co-counselors now comes my mooshy sentiments of having a TEAM around each of you that are people who love you, sharpen you, encourage you, and cheer for you. All of those things, of course, being centered on the Lord, because without Him we can't love, encourage and sharpen.

This summer Trish and I had a team that did that. We loved each other, we refined each other and we cheered each other on. In our world, it is for some reason a cool thing to say..."oh, i have all guy friends. girls are too much drama." (which just a side note but most of the time when girls say that to me they are usually the factor to all the drama...just sayin'). You need a team. You need girls around you cheering for you and walking beside you in your walk with the Lord. He made us for relationships...first with Him and then next with people. I am praying today that each of you would even just have 1 great girl friend that loves Jesus and you two spur each other on in that.

I get so fired up for this as I have seen it be amazing...it's so good, so rich and so life changing. Okay, I could type for hours on this! Have great Fridays!

I HEART Kamp Friendships...

 Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Well, although below you see a picture of 3 grown ups, 11 years ago it was not that way. The 2 girls in the pictures with me were my 1st ever co-counselors. Trish called us the 3 Blonde Bombshells and to this day we are still GREAT friends. One lives close and one sharpened me this summer as a part of the K2 Leadership team.

So just a friendly reminder to call/email/facebook your kamp friends and stay in touch. We need good girl friends that are like minded and reminding us each day to be more like Jesus and to know of His love for us. Amen! I'm going to call my friends...

Search, Ponder & Pray...

{source}
Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Well, today is a bit rainy and quiet outside. I don't know if all the neighborhood kids being in school has left Branson...well, just quieter (I don't think that's a word...I think it's more quiet...I will ponder that later!). With the quietness, I am blogging some reflective questions. Search your heart, ponder your answer and then pray if your into that.

Ponderosa #1: If your best friend described you what would be the top 3 qualities she would say?
Ponderoosky #2: If your siblings described you what would be the top 3 qualities they would say?
Pondereede #3: What kind of legacy do you want to leave at your jr. high/high school? What will teachers, principals and peers say of you when you are done in those hallways?

Are you pondering? Cool...

So Long Summer...

{source}
Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Wow! Does anyone else feel like summer was like a blink of an eye? I do! Let's go back! Well, maybe not for the parents who missed ya'll like crazy! It was an awesome summer. Each term was awecrepic, hard, stretching and exciting all in it's own way. Each term I stood aside and saw God move mountains with my piddly faith the size of a mustard seed...probably smaller than that some days. I was again reminded of the refuge that K2 can be...and kamp in general!

Okay, so how's school everyone? I love the Etsy prints above and below. The one above is all the things that still make me giggle (okay, some of brings back horrific memories...prom, homecoming, anything involving boys...I was that clueless girl!). I pray each of you are remembering your happy place...kamp, but also seizing the amazing field you are in for major impact. Don't forget what God did in your precious hearts this summer. Don't let the "kamp high" be a "kamp high." Let it be the Holy Spirit churning your heart and gut to DO something. Go make an impact and change this generation with the love of Jesus!

Sure miss ya'll but love praying for you as you become UN-numb and you run hard for the endzone (sorry for the rather cheesy sports analogy...I was thinking of Crosstalk this year...remember? The 3rd nail explanation)

Winds of Fall...

Hey K2 Kanakuk Term ALL Parents & Kampers,
I will be sending out a link soon to all kampers but wanted to just write a quick THANKS for an amazing summer. Most my think that once you have done kamp awhile you just roll with each day. Well, I can honestly say I have learned so much from your daughters, staff and leadership teams that it truly makes me so thankful that the Lord is never done with us.

I hope you all are finishing summer well and that school isn't stressful but tons of fun to talk to your teen about the legacy that they want to leave at their schools. I prayed as the last set of kampers left that HEART change happened so that the world knows that they are different and set apart!

We are on vacation this week but I wanted to let you know I am working on a blog to sell the fabric headbands just like the ones I wore this summer. They are priced very lovely and I can make ones that are kiowa colors and kickapoo colors. I love making them so this is just a creative outlet for me since I now go into full time mom mode. When the girls nap, I get to sew and would love to make your daughters, yours or friends a little lovely headband. I just think it will be fun to prayerfully get an order and just pray for your family as I cut, sew and wrap it all up to send to you! I'll let you know when it's good to go...for now it's in progress!

August 6...

{source}
Hey K2 Kanakuk Term 45/5 Parents,
It's laundry day! That is what makes this day exciting!

Devo: Hebrews...Jesus: Absolute and Fully Sufficient.

Morning: Normal morning of classes. Cabins 11 and 12 were on Treetops.

Afternoon: Normal afternoon of classes.

Trips: Cabins 7 and 8 are at K-Wet.

Night: CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST! It was so much fun! We had cookies with icing and sprinkles to decorate with and carols. We also did a huge game of the game of a white elephant exchange. I don't know if you all have ever played it but it was a blast! We had all the girls wrap a "gift." It could be an old tshirt they didn't want, play dough they got in the mail, headbands, nailpolish, just all kinds of goofy stuff. It was a riot! They had a blast!

I'm so behind...here we go catch up time...

Devo: Titus, Jude, & Philemon...Titus: Instructions for Faith.

Morning: Normal morning periods 1-3. Treetops was cabins 7 and 8.

Afternoon: Normal afternoon periods 4-6.

Trips: Cabins 5 and 6 were at K-Wet.

Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT! This was a kamper led K-Life. We had kampers lead worship and then 2 kampers shared too. It is always so cool to watch peers lead and it is usually so much more impactful because it is ONE of them. So cool to watch!

August 3...

Hey K2 Kanakuk Term 45/5 Parents,
It's been another great POD day here at K2! For you new K2 parents you can look back to postings on July 27th, July 20th, or way back to June 8th for the explanation on POD days! They are basically the best invention (wait, not invention...idea) idea ever at K2. Thank you Debbie Jo White!

Devo: I Timothy...Instruction in Leadership.

Morning: Morning Pod of their choice. Treetops was cabins 1 and 2.

Afternoon: Afternoon Pod of their choice. Treetops was cabins 3 and 4.

Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT! Tonight Dr. Joe White keeps the 14 nighters in the girls gym for the Purity Talk and Seth Higgins, the K2 Assistant Men's director, speaks to the 28 nighters. For you new mommas and daddies of Term 5 kampers I pray that this night would be either a turning point or a continued launch for your sweet daughter(s). I pray that they would know full well that they are wonderfully made and that they are PRICELESS! Their worth is in a Heavenly Father that loves them. They are His Favorite...each one of them!!! I love thinking that I am God's Favorite but as are His other "kids." Love that!
