June 19...

Hey Parents and Friends,
Well my hubby and I are back from our time off and I am so refreshed by our time away. Kanakuk is a ministry that truly wants your family to be first before the kamp ministry can pull at the home unit. So blessed to work here! I hope you all are doing great and again thanks for your patience concerning the pictures. Here is the 411 on the day...(411 means like the info of the day)...

Verse: Proverbs 10:17: "He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray." (I am sure you all are hooraying after reading this verse! I pray for you today as you discipline and instruct the next generation of godly women! Hang in there! I promise your daughter will become your best friend when she is in her 20's...for now be MOM and DAD!

Morning/Afternoon: Normal schedule for us here at K2. We have had awesome weather and the sun is just shining on us! We are making sure the girls and guys are drinking lots of water and I'm sure our Kanakuk Water bottles are selling each day!

Night: Tonight we have a Woman Night! This is a night with just the girls' unit. We have 20 girls cabins and they are broken down into a unit (Unit 1: cabins 1-4, Unit 2: cabins 5-8, Unit 3: cabins 9-12, Unit 4: cabins 13-16, and Unit 5: cabins 17-20). Each unit has a gal that we call their UC = Unit Coordinator. Each UC is a gal that has worked for us in the past and this term they are incredible leaders and servants! So tonight they each have come up with something for their unit to do. I am not sure which unit is doing what but I know there is a unit watching a movie (Cool Runnings) and getting sno cones, one unit is doing spa night with pedicures and facials, one unit is having a scavenger hunt...and sadly my preggo hormones are making me not remember the rest...sorry!

Praying for you as parents...goodness, am so humbled to partner with you in prayerfully showing your daughter how stinkin' awesome it is to walk in the Lord!

Window to their World,
Kanakuk Ashley Robbins

Hey Ashley, I'm Hallie's mom, Amy. She's in Cabin 12. I just wanted to tell you thank you for keeping us up with our girls. Even though there are no pictures, the words are enough for me. It's great to see a little picture into their world. We got our chicken letter today and it was great to read that Hallie was missing home but living each day with an open heart. That is what we have prayed for for this time especially. Thanks for being there for the girls.
