Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Well, we are smack in the middle of Chief and Princess Weekend. It's when the chiefs and princesses you voted on from summer come to Branson for a weekend of fun, fellowship and brainstorming. It's so fun to see kamp faces and to watch the friendships that begin!
It also means kamp is coming soon...

I'm Back...
Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Well, goodness, it has been a bit...sorry about that! I was on vacation with the hubs and littles and then I we had leadership weekend, which was a blast and now this weekend is Chief & Princess Weekend. So blogging, well, it never dominates my life but it was like non-dominating by not even being involved. Sorry!
So I'm back and more random than ever, I'm sure....

Adley Stump...
{source} |
Well, I am kind of jumping ship on the American Idol show and totally loving The Voice. I love the concept...just the voice. I love that! Well, I was quite surprised to be watching when I saw a long time Kanakuk Kamper appear on the screen. She was a great K2 kamper. She loved kamp and loved life!! I was so impressed with her on the show (she made it on to Team Blake...but was let go last night after her battle...side note: I believe she was way better than her battle person but I'm not Blake I guess).
Adley, so proud of you and the way you were so respectful on stage to the judges...you were priceless. Proud of you and can't wait to see what doors open to you!

Spring Break's Coming...
{source: google search} |
Well, to me the weather is warming and my sandals are all chatting it up about how they will not be put on my feet till I get a nice little pedi...but they are chatting which means it's spring time! Which in turn means Spring Break is almost here for most of you...
So, tell me what the plans are? In high school, I honestly can't remember what I did on spring break. I think we went skiing a few times. Then in college, I usually just stayed in Fayetteville and kicked it old school. One year we did Panama City...ewww, would not recommend. I just honestly can't remember what I did?? Hmm...the roots of blonde and mommy brain are taking over slowly...or not so slowly.
Anyways, fun plans anyone?

October Baby Movie Review...
Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Well, I had shared with you about Hollywood calling and wanting me to screen a movie for the Oscars. Okay, kidding...but seriously I did get to screen a movie (October Baby) in my humble little living room with my hubs. He was in and out of the movie but I was in fully. I must do a disclaimer that there are several scenes, although realistic of the college world, are not something that I support (ex: sort of sleeping innocently over night with a guy and a next morning after partying scene). I DO NOT think these 2 small scenes compromised the amazing integrity of this movie and the amazing message that I think it is hoping to spread.
To me this movie comes down to this point. YOU HAVE VALUE. No matter how life started for you, no matter if you have the best parents, worst parents or no parents...YOU HAVE VALUE. I love the tag line for the movie, "Every life is beautiful." Oh, sweet girls, only if you truly knew that think of how differently the young woman generation would look. The movie by the end had me crying and remembering an interview of a gal (she shared I could share her story) I had 2 years ago who was the baby of a rape situation. Her mom, who was raped, had her and she was this light of Jesus. What if her mom had chosen differently!? I'm so thankful she chose life as I was moved and humbled by her story. This story does the same thing...it moves you and especially as a mom made me realize the tremendous role of the hubs and I in our littles life. To tell them and show them daily that THEIR LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.
Side point to the movie that also stuck out...forgiveness. It's a big message in the lead character's journey that is really amazing too. We sometimes hold on to so much anger, bitterness and resentment...especially when it comes to our parents or whoever raised us or didn't raise us...you must let go and her character shows that process. It's powerful, for sure!
So March...put it on your calendar and go HERE to see more about this movie. They have all these celebs doing promos for the movie and it's awesome messages!

Spring...
{source: flickr group. Her store HERE} |
Well, I might come in from a 45 minute walk with my neighbor and have to scratch my eye balls out and sneeze 45 times in a row but I say to that...who needs their eyeballs? who doesn't look a good kerchoo?
I love this weather that has fallen upon the mountains of the Ozark in Branson, MO. It is warm-ish but I can wear my beloved Nike shorts and that makes this woman happy. It is just perfect.
So put down your iPhone7,342S and you iPad 42XM and go get a friend, your mom, your dog or just you and go to the park, on a walk around your neighborhood, or just go lay in the grass and get some Vitamin D. Research says we don't get enough...but don't get all oompa loompa on me?
Listen to the birds...chirp chirp, peep peep.

Tanya Beardsley is Home...
Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Well, some might say this is a personal blog post...well, you would be correct. Congrats!
Tanya Beardsley, K2 leadership gal/friend/Robbins' main little ones sitter/organizing extraordinaire/dear friend, works for the Kanakuk Link Year and before that she was doing Kanakuk Institute. So she has been in our life for 2 years now on a consistent basis...till the month of February. She went to Ireland...for a MONTH. Who does that?
But she is home. (start Hallelujah chorus). She is home to start brainstorming the party menus for kamp 2012, to play tea party with our littles, and to come just hang out with me. Praise the Lord.
K2 is lucky to have her...yes, yes. She will be back this summer running parties and K-Lifes and basically being awesome.

The Oscars...
{source} |
Well, I watched the Oscars (okay, I didn't make it past 10 pm...this girl is old!) and it's so funny to watch that life. To think when I was 16, I wanted to be "famous." It looks so appealing in every way...
I watched the nominees get read aloud and honestly realized I have seen ZERO movies recently and had no idea what any of them were...literally, none. So I was out of the loop there and then I was even more out of the loops with all the words. Hang with me. The jokes by the host and the lines from presenters I was always left tilting my head and wondering, "what are they talking about?" So maybe I'm not artsy enough or I don't know the "business." But let's be honest, I'm 100% okay with that.
I thought some dresses were pretty and the speeches were interesting. The hubs made one comment that stuck with me...no one this year thanked God. Now don't get me wrong, even when they do I sometimes cringe b/c I'm not sure the God they thank is the actual God of the Bible, The True Savior and King. BUT, this year there was not even a mention...
Just something to ponder...as this world gets more crazy I really need someone to give this family a 1,000 acres of land in Australia where we can move and not have cell phones, facebook, or tweets...please. I'm not above begging...
(told you sickness and lack of blogging would produce random posts. I say, enjoy.)
