July 31...

Hey Kanakuk Term 3/6 Parents!
Well, welcome new Term 6 Parents to Kanakuk Ashley! Woohoo! This is a blog that during the summer is dedicated to each day of K2 and so you can know what's going on in REAL time...let's be honest the mail system is pretty slow around good 'ole Lampe, MO! I hope you enjoy!

Women of the Bible Study: NONE. It's changeover! Our 25 days gals got to sleep in a bit...
Verse: NONE.

Morning: We said goodbye to our Term 5 kampers. Our 25 day gals had normal morning until 10:00 am which is when they loaded buses with the 25 day guys and headed to White Water. White Water is an awesome water park in Branson so it's a fun, laid back day for our 25 gals/guys.

Afternoon: Well, we are greeting the new Term 6 kampers and the 25 dayers at riding every slide at White Water and probably having a ball in the Wave Pool!

Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT! Well, tonight, again I'm biased, the kampers get to hear from the most awesome guy in the whole world...SHAY ROBBINS (parents the k2 guys have a blog but shay just does it during the year but fyi: www.shayrobbins.org). Shay is speaking on Apologetics tonight (pretty deep topic for night 1 of our Term 6 kids but some nights got shuffled so I know Shay will connect and still welcome them in the first night too).

July 30...

Hey Kanakuk Term 3/5 Parents and Friends,
July 30th...that day can't really be here! I hate to tell you but that means summer is soon to be ending and school is soon to be starting...but I won't remind you of that! Term 5 Parents hopefully you all are on your way here...woohoo!! Here is the day:

Women of the Bible Study: Abigail / 1 Samuel 25:2-42
Verse: 2 Chronicles 15:7

Morning: The 3 periods of classes were all dedicated to getting ready for Karnival. Again it's a lot of hard work but the girls love performing for the guy side of kamp!

Afternoon: We packed a little and played A LOT! We had an all K2 pool party and just ended with fun and memories of hanging with all their new friends!

Night: KARNIVAL / TERM 5 CLOSINGS. We had the Karnival and it was just so cute! I'm sure people filmed it with their fancy cameras that record too and I'm sure your daughter can show you that on facebook where they upload it too...it's so cute! Both dances were just awesome! Oh, an idea just came to me...good family memory would be to ask your daughter to tell you all about Karnival and then to do the dance part she was in?? (Daughters are totally dying right now with my idea...it will be tons of fun!)

Off to welcome Term 6 kiddos...

July 29...

Hey Kanakuk Term 3/5 Parents,

Well, term 5 parents you might already be on your way to K2 for closing ceremonies. I can't believe 2 weeks has already flown by! At the bottom of this email you will find some details for closing ceremonies...

Women of the Bible Study: Ruth / Ruth 2:2-6
Verse: James 4:10

Morning: This morning the girls start Karnival practice. It is hard work but they love the end result which is putting on an old school carnival for the guys side of kamp. The Kiowas and Kickapoos have banners, games, and a huge big dance to perform and it all goes towards tribal competition. It's tons of fun!

Afternoon: Well, we will be packing (for Term 5 kampers) during 4th period and 25 day girls will get an extended FOB and then 5th and 6th period we have our last day of specialties for Term 5 kampers. Crazy!

Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT! Dr. Joe White will be speaking tonight...I must admit I'm not sure what his message is on tonight but I'm totally confident it will be a message from the Lord and prayerfully rest upon softened hearts...

July 28...

Hey Kanakuk Term 3/5 Parents,
What a day! It has just been awesome weather...rain will come every few days to cool it down and there is a bit of a breeze that keeps you somewhat cooler! So awesome! Here was the run down for you:

Women of the Bible Study: Sinful Woman (again, great name huh?!) / Luke 7:36-50
Verse: 2 Chronicles 7:14

Morning: Normal morning of classes.

Afternoon: Normal afternoon of classes.

Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT!! Well, tonight we have the greatest speaker, husband, and dad in the whole world...MR. SHAY ROBBINS! Obviously, I am a bit biased but he has a message that is just awesome! Shay loves to take kampers straight to God's Word. I love that in him. He will be talking tonight about how Paul lived so relentlessly to share the gospel of Christ to others and why Paul did so. He pulls it back in with challenging kampers to live relentlessly pursuing an intimate relationship with Christ. It's a great message for teens to hear!

Girls cabins 12 and 16 are out at K-Wild for 1 night and are back in the morning. I am praying they have a great time and make lots of memories...

July 27...

Hey Kanakuk Term 3/5 Parents,
What a day! We had a great day here at K2 and I'm sorry to just now be posting! Here is the run down...

Women of the Bible Study: Rebekah / Genesis 24:12-22
Verse: Philippians 2:3-8

Morning: Normal morning of classes.

Afternoon: Normal afternoon of classes.

Night: COLOR CATASTROPHE! We had a great party last night with a bit of K-Flex due to some rain that came out of nowhere. So our Programs team did a great job, rallied, and came up with a great plan B very quickly as the rain came down. We had an awesome dance party with all the lights we have in our girls gym going crazy with color! It was tons of fun!

Cabins 13, 14, and 15 headed out to K-Wild today. It's not a required trip so some of the girls in any of those cabins might have chosen to stay at K2 and in that case 1 counselor goes on trip with the girls and 1 counselor stays in camp with the girls. That way they get to do what they want.

July 26...

Hey Kanakuk Term 3/5 Parents,
Well, it's 9:06 pm and K-Life is happening right now! I love that you all get the "real" time of what is going on and not the 5 days later or more letters that your daughters may or may not be writing...haha! Here is the day:

Women of the Bible Study: Anna / Luke 2:36-38
Verse: Psalm 25:9

Morning: Normal morning of classes. We started our "20 Day schedule" today. Don't worry Term 5 parents that is just what we call it and it just means all our K2 girls (and guys) start their individual schedules that they each make on their own. They pick all 6 periods of their day depending on if they fill up the scantron goes to their next choice and so forth. Gotta love technology...most of the time! We did have a bit of rain and didn't get to have 3rd period of our morning classes...but the girls all headed to the girls gym and made up a line dance with their cabin and then performed it for our Kanakuk Idol judges...it was so much fun!

Afternoon: Normal afternoon of classes.

Night: We had some liquid sunshine (aka: rain) but the girls were in supper and then we have K-LIFE TONIGHT! So the girls are all inside and protected from the rain. It's stopped now and the rain cooled things down a bit which is awesome. Tonight Dr. Joe White spoke and it was the purity message he does. He does a great job and have prayed today that each of your daughters would know that their worth and value is so much bigger than what the world, school, media, magazines, and sometimes friends are telling them. Each of them is PRICELESS to you and even more so to their Father who knit each of them together as they are. I pray they truly hear that their worth is never found in a boy and that true security is in the arms of the Father! Oh, for each girl to understand just how loved they are by the Lord...that is my prayer!

Cabins 19 and 20 gals are still hanging out at K-Wet for 1 more night. Don't worry moms and dads the cabin 19 and 20 girls will hear Joe's purity talk during the next 2 week term of kampers as the rest of the 25 day kiddos go to another talk that are hearing it tonight. So they will have the purity talk too...just fyi!

Sure praying for you as parents tonight. I know the job is hard and days can seem like you will not make it past her 17 birthday...you will! You are doing a great job!
