Hey Kanakuk Moms and Dads,
Well, the day started with a little liquid sunshine...a.k.a RAIN! We have been so blessed this summer weather wise so it really was a fun surprise to our summer because we have had to do none of our rainy day activities. I think even for our afternoon it is going to still be raining so what I am about to type (at 1:30 pm on the 21st) might change if the sun peeks out and the rain stops...here is the 411 on the day...
Verse: Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works so that no man can boast."
Morning: Since it was raining we had all the cabins break up into 3 units (cabins 1-6, 7-12, and 13-20). We had 3 amazing stations that they rotated through...family feud in the girls gym, games (ping pong, skittles, cards, mad gab) in the dining hall, and PIT (it's like a stock market game...sounds boring but it is oh so fun!) in the boys gym. I helped run the family feud game and it was a blast!
Afternoon: If the rain stops we will head to our afternoon classes. If it keeps raining then we will do a movie afternoon with guys watching a movie in their gym and girls watching a movie in the girls gym. It actually is nice to have a movie night because our Term 5 gals miss our girl movie night because it is during Term 6 so it will be so much fun and the girls always love just hanging with their cabin and getting some down time. Teenagers these days are just so busy for 9 months...actually all year! So it will be a blast! I gotta run so I can get a movie picked out...
Night: K-LIFE TONIGHT. Yipee!! K2 kampers love K-life. Tonight is one of my favorite speakers in the whole wide world...SHAY ROBBINS!!! Obviously I am a little biased! :) He is speaking tonight about Heaven. His heart in his message is to show kids what Paul meant when he talks about running for the goal/prize that is heavenward. Revelation gives some pretty cool descriptives on heaven to help us know how STINKIN' AWESOME eternity with Jesus is going to be! I would love for you as parents to join us in praying that your child's heart would be soft to what the Lord is going to teach/grow/encourage your sweet daughter with in the next 13 or 25 days. It's going to be great!
Window to their World,
Kanakuk Ashley Robbins

I miss your blogging. Please give us more.
Ashley, Thanks for keeping us plugged in and loving on our girls. This is Faiths first summer at k2 and her first year to stay only 14 days since her first year at k1. She is in cabin 2. Her parting words were "next year I'm stayin25 day." We cut it short this year so we could visit our oldest daughter in Europe before school starts. You explain that to me; I guess she loves camp@ Thanks again, Jackie Badders
