The Hunger Games...

Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Well, where is the bandwagon cuz I'm jumping on...I just finished reading the Hunger Games and LOVED IT! I was so thankful for the purity of the story and then loved it more when my friend Jane told me the source of the author's reason for writing (the obsession we have with reality tv...very interesting).

I haven't seen the movie yet but even after the 3rd book (which is when people told me this would change) I was still for Team Gale. I am used to being the odd ball as (even though I never read the books and only saw like 30 minutes of the movies) I think I am team Jacob. Anyways, Hunger Games...hope the movie stays clean like the book was.

Did everyone see it already? Good or book is way better?

Be awesome & Love Jesus,

Wow, I have never read any of the hunger games books, but I am shocked at how brutal the movie was. I went into it not knowing the plot, but found myself covering my eyes at the gruesome mortality for the majority of the movie. The storyline left my stomach aching after the film, and I do not see a reason for any kiddos to watch this kind of society in action. Yes there may have been Christian underlying concepts in the book, but I am not sure that the movie captured these at all! Just my opinion though as a mamma!

Dear anonymous, thanks for stopping by and am going with the hubs tonight for the movie. The book is equally as "brutal" but the message is so good. the author wrote the books based on the fact that we as a society sit/laugh/take entertainment from all the reality TV that we have these days (not Survivor shows but like Toddler and Tiaras). I have heard from folks that it is brutal and will be interested to see it tonight. The books are great and told well, purely and have no vampires...which makes me a fan! :)
