Remember...

{source}
Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Oh, how sweet the Lord was as He has been reminding me of this TRUTH. Remember His promises. Remember His character. Remember.

EVERY...

Hey K2 Kanakuk Gals,
This summer our staff will be studying the book of James. I am so excited to go through this book with our staff. I started reading and studying through it for this semester before kamp and it has already (chapter 1 is all I have even gotten through and not even the whole chapter) been so refining for me. This morning I read James 1:17. (see above). The word that stuck out to me was EVERY. Debbie Jo (our sage of wisdom in Bible studying) would be so proud of me with picking a key word. Every person, every conversation, every possession, every THING...is from the Lord. What a reminder that is! I sometimes question the Lord's leading or things in my life...but wow, this verse hit me like a ton of Ugg boots (not sure that makes sense but just throwing in some comic relief...maybe I'm the only one laughing! That makes me laugh harder).

Step back from the rush of getting back into your semester, already worrying about grades, extracurricular activities, and the hub of your social life and look at life and remember, really abide in this fact, that anything good in your life is from the Lord! It's just so awesome!

Frandom Friday...

Hey K2 Kanakuk Gals,
Well, I made up a new word...Frandom! It's Friday + Random = Frandom...embrace the word people! I feel like my posts have been well, very random which I'm sure makes you all gasp for air and throw your hands up in complete disbelief, but alas (I love that word) another random post is about to hit you in the face, not really.

Today I just wanted to remind you of a K2 Kanakuk memory. Obviously I am a bit biased but the hubby's message this past summer on being Relentless (remember?) in our journey with Jesus was so convicting to my heart. I told him even if none of you listened or had heart change, his own wife did. It truly was a transforming night for my heart. I had let mommyhood, kamp, and just life take over my relentless heart to just be the Lords and seek Him. So today I want you to remember the verse Shay really hit on (now actually the Robbins' family verse):

Psalm 27:4
I have asked one thing from the Lord; it is what I desire; to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of the Lord and seeking Him in His temple."
Amen, amen! Know of God's unconditional love and live in the midst of that love by seeking Him each day with your heart.

Being the Green Gummy Bear...

Well, first of all, all you Kanakuk girlies I hope you all had an awesome Easter with reflection on the fact that He is Risen (he is risen indeed...does every church do that little saying?), lots of time with family, and maybe a fun easter egg hunt.

This morning I awoke bright and early for our 7th/8th grade small group that Katie Hurst (K-Life Branson gal and K-Kountry leadership) and I co-lead. We are going through Ephesians with the girls and it's been awesome. This week we hit on the Holy Spirit...

"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession --to the praise of his glory." ~ Ephesians 1:13-14

Well so this verse speaks of being sealed with/by the Holy Spirit...which then made me ask the girls, "What does the Holy Spirit do in your life?" (Insert: Silence and the hum of the coke machine in McDonalds). They just weren't sure...and maybe you aren't either.

So tying it all back together to the gummy bear picture...we are to look, be, act, speak, live DIFFERENTLY. I always say the Holy Spirit lives in my gut...when I choose to sin there is that moment when my gut turns and I know I'm doing something wrong. That's the Holy Spirit pulling at you. (Please no theological comments about Holy Spirit in my gut :) You sweet girls should look different than this world. You should walk away from gossip...you should desire to dress to point people to Jesus not your body...you should feel the twist of your gut when you walk by your mom and preceed to slam your door only to see all your laundry folded nicely on your bed and you should go out and say thank you and hug her. You should because the Holy Spirit lives in your girl! You are different. Be that...be different.

p.s. I adore Haribo Gummy Bears...and now because of the picture I like want them! Wish they grew on trees...

Be awesome, love Jesus and be the green gummy bear,
