Happy Valentines...

Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Happy Valentines day to you sweet friends!!! I realize in junior high and high school Valentines Day can be well, not the best at times. And for some you love love love it! I hope that wherever you fall on the LOVE/HATE relationship with Valentines Day that you know LOVE is deeper when Jesus is at the heart of it. Whether your relationship with the Lord or others around you...His love is so deep and so wide and so true and so real and so grace filled.

Welcome February...

{source}
Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Welcome to February!!! Woohoo! Or boo from the crowds. I must admit that February was 90% of the time not my most favorite month in high school and college. I mean since I had boys just waiting in lines...haha! I just thought today I would remind each of you that you, sweet girls, are beautiful and perfect the way you are.

My 2 little princesses are very much into a new little show on Disney called "Sofia the First." It's precious in every way. In a recent episode little new Princess Sofia is reminded by her "village" friends that to be a princess means that everyone is made perfectly (don't get all theological...I know we aren't perfect). She goes to her friends and tells them she loves them just the way they are...

Be reminded today that you are YOU. With each quirk or pet peeve. With each freckle or crazy hair. With each silly laugh or dimpled cheek. You are YOU and that makes you special. So with this month of LOVE swirling around you remember that the greatest LOVE of all is from the One who created YOU to be YOU.

Happy Valentine's Day...

{source}
 Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
Well, it's LOVE day! For some of ya'll, you LOVE this LOVE day. For some of ya'll, you dread this love day. I think in high school I went back in forth. Some years I loved it and other years I just felt like I would never find my Troy (really bad High School Musical reference...I apologize).

Well, I am here to remind you of truths on this day, whether you love it or hate it)...
1. You are you for such a purpose.
2. You are created by a Creator.
3. You are beautifully beautiful.
4. You are not alone.
5. You truly are priceless.

Just remember this today. You, whether you have flowers or not, are precious to the Lord. Too sound super cheesy He is the Ultimate Valentine. Promise!

Be awesome & Love Jesus,

Love Whooooo You Are...

{source}
Hey K2 Kanakuk Friends,
It is so interesting...whether you are 86, 43, 30, or 15...we all STRUGGLE to LOVE who the Lord has made us to be. Why is this? Why do we not see the beautiful creation that Jesus made? Instead we see all the bad, all the negative, all the things we want changed. I type this today thinking of one of my dearest friends...and every other friend...and for that matter me.

We have to choose each day to wrap up in the love of Jesus and the perfect Creator He is like a fall scarf on a cool day. His love and purpose in us is so much bigger than anything we could fathom with our feeble, tiny minds (mine tinier than others). So today seize this...love who you are b/c of who made you.

Be awesome & Love Jesus,

Speak the Truth, Even If Your Voice Shakes...

Hey K2 Kanakuk Gals,
SIDE STORY: Goodness, what a weekend. It doesn't feel like a Monday (although that could be because I am still in my PJ's and it's 3:15 pm. No biggie!). So you might be wondering why I am in my pj's still? Well, maybe most of you aren't actually wondering that but I will enlighten you none the less. Shay Robbins (how did I get so lucky?) completed his 1st Half Ironman on Sunday. He and K2 guy counselor, Jeff Brown, awoke at 4:00 am (I awoke at 4:30 am due to being awake, saying bye, and a little girl in my belly just a movin' around at 4:00 like crazy) and headed out for the race! I came later at 6:30 am to watch the start of the race and the transition to bike (in the triathlete world it's called T1...I'm so in with the lingo!). Anyways, I'll spare you the details and get to the post title for today but I was so very proud of Shay Robbins yesterday! To see someone do something so extraordinary is just awesome! It was so much fun, while exhausting with the precious one along with me, yet I did tear up (of course, I cry on Pentathlon day at Kamp for goodness sake) when he finished. I just was so proud of him! So there's my "that's why I'm still in my pj's reasoning/justification...oh, who cares...I can wear my pj's if I want to!

Okay, so the picture at the top! (Side Note: how adorably cute is this print I found on Etsy.com...can you tell someone {me} is obsessed with a certain homeade, custom website). Speaking the Truth in Love can be so very hard and that's why I loved this print. Sometimes going to friends or K2 staff is hard to speak truth to them and it's even more hard to hear truth from friends/husband at times in life. Truth...when truly spoken to refine us or correct us is hard to accept...but if you look back to moments when truth has been spoken to you in love...there is always HUGE blessing and a sweetness of being to be more like Jesus that comes. Oh, but it can hurt so badly at first and when you are the one going to someone to prayerfully speak truth in love...as the print perfectly puts it..."Speak truth even if your voice shakes." I just love that. In our humanness our voice will shake when we need to go to a sister, mom, friend, husband or whoever to speak truth into their life to help them grow, be molded, and refined to be more like Jesus! I want that in my life and want to do that to other's lives...but my voice can get really shaky! (Another Side Note: I love how this print of this saying has the quote in the mid part of the body written across where our hearts are in real life. I have no idea if the artist meant to do that but I love it! I am now officially an artist critic...haha! Just kidding! I just love it so much how it embodies what we can all feel to have to confront or speak truth to sisters in Christ in our lives. Oh, I'm rambling in my side note...sorry!)

Remember today to speak truth in LOVE (not jealousy or gossip or any other reason)...even if your voice shakes...if you do it with love in your spirit then the blessing always comes...well, by always it could be a crown in heaven someday...which is AWESOME!

The More I Seek You...

Hey Kanakuk Cuties,
Well, today this song would not get out of my head. This song Shay and I had sung at our wedding and it is so simple and intimate between us and our Heavenly Father. The video is of Kari Jobe (one of my fav artists...thanks ashley gross for introducing me) who has an incredible voice. I have already starting singing to sweet Lulu this song...I pray each of you today will take even just a moment to read the lyrics, listen to the song, and then get to praisin'. God's love for you girls is OVERWHELMING! Remember that today as the world can get so loud in your ears telling you that you just aren't good enough. His love is so deep...it's overwhelming...
The More I Seek You:
The more I seek you,
The more I find you
The more I find you, the more I love you

I wanna sit at your feet
Drink from the cup in your hand.
Lay back against you and breath, feel your heart beat
This love is so deep, it's more than I can stand.
I melt in your peace, it's overwhelming

Be awesome, love Jesus, & be overwhelmed,

Kanakuk Ashley Robbins
(Note: Due to a blonde working the computer I can't get the Kari Jobe Video to work. But click here and you can hear it.)
