July 12...

Hey Kanakuk Moms and Dads,
Well, the day was AWESOME! It's 11:13 pm and the hubby and I just got done closing down K2 for the night after a crazy party! Here is the scoop on their day...

Verse: Ecclesiastes 4:12: "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

Morning: We had K2 church this morning...sleep in, coffee cake, and K2 church! Goodness, that's a great day right there! We had 2 awesome staff speak this morning. Seth Higgins, a K2 leadership guy, talked about stepping out of the boat and keeping your eyes/heart steadfast on the Lord. Then Abigail Weedor, K2 1st year staff gal, spoke about her life growing up in Ethiopia and her parents trek across Africa to get to a refuge camp away from the rebels. It was unbelievable! Her message was to remind kids of going and doing missions...whether that is right down the road or continents away.

Afternoon: We had the start of our Holiday Holapalooza party this afternoon. We had Presidents day trivia at the pool, 4th of July with watermelon at the dock, and Christmas cookies in the dining hall with Valentine card making there too. Such a blast!

Night: HOLIDAY HOLAPALOOZA! The kampers came in all different outfits...every holiday you could think of! It was awesome! We had a Thanksgiving Dinner (delicious!!) and then a football game with our staff vs. kampers. Then we had a parade that led to our Christmas ball (dance party). During the dance party they got to go to the dining hall for our fresh fruit with chocolate foutain (we didn't use our fountain, but in theory that's what is was like). Yummy! Then we finished the night with New Years with all the girls at Backwoods (our girls side rally place) with fireworks got shot off! It was awesome!
Window to their World,
Kanakuk Ashley Robbins
