June 9...

Hey K2 Kanakuk Term 1 Parents,
Oh, my heart feels a sense of being overwhelmed today. That might sound negative but quite the opposite. I feel overwhelmed by your kiddos! I just hung up the phone with a wife who's hubby just deployed to Afghanistan and their sweet girl is here with us. They trusted us to have her during this time. I teared up as I spoke to this courageous woman. I choked up as I talked to the kamper and she just wanted to know all the details of how her dad was doing. I had another gal that each day we are getting some great talk time as she is really homesick. She knows God has purpose and is trying to not let fear stop her from having a great time. To share Isaiah 26:3..."He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust Him whose thoughts turn often to the Lord" and to see a calm in this precious 13 year old heart. I'm telling you, you all as parents amaze me. Are you perfect? Probably not...but you are LOVING your kids by showing them that Jesus is in control of them. You are showing them that you want their hearts to be poured into at some crazy Kamp. I hope each girls feels loved and encouraged to seek Jesus each day because there is life, forgiveness, and HOPE in seeking Him. I am a bit emotional (totally not pregnant though, just normal emotional!) and humbled by you all. Thanks for impacting me and yet I don't even know you by name.

Okay, here was the day...

Devo: John. That you may believe.

Morning: Normal periods 1-3. Treetops was cabin 9 and 10.

Afternoon: Normal periods 4-6. Period 4 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays is optional period. The girls can either hang at the pool, play tennis, write letters at Backwoods (our girl rally spot), chat it up in the church or do the slip n slide (I think that was an option today?).

Night: GIRLS MOVIE NIGHT! The girls as I type are all just relaxing (after a hectic Pod day that was so full of action and left them a bit tired because it was so full of fun and awesomeness!) watching Tangled. Tangled is my new favorite Disney movie...HEART.IT! We have made a special treat of normal popcorn with m&m's or like special popcorn with a bit of butter/brown sugar mixture! Both are Deeeeee-lish!

Okay, hope you all are doing great and please continue to pray for your girl's heart. Pray for the Lord to simply use each of us from directors to counselors to our precious kitchies to show kids Jesus with each moment and each word. To stretch them outside of themselves for them to see the potential of a christian leader in every single one of them! Off to watch Tangled...

Window to their World,
