Well, this past weekend Shay completed his 3rd (err..maybe 4th) Half Ironman. Yeah, he's legit?! Well, we had a monsoon during the race (the run part to be exact) which Shay loved and didn't mind a bit but for a mom with 2 little precious faces I was under a tent (that leaked) with 2 strollers, 2 great friends, and 2 parents-in-law. I changed the youngest munchkin in my best friends arms mid air, both littles wanted mommy to hold them (of course!) and the firstborn did not want to keep her shoes on...all the while the monsoon was pouring and we were trying to cheer on Shay...COM.I.CAL!
Shay survived and did great. He had 2 flats but got them fixed and so he made his goal time and feels great. Jeff Brown (K2 leadership guy) came down and did it too and they both did so great! So they may have gotten a medal for finishing the Ironman but there should be some medal for mom of 2 under 2 toting 4 bags 1. diapers 2. food 3. toys 4. strollers medal...let me know if you find that medal somewhere.
Next year...calling our awesome babysitter to come over!
