June 17...

Hey K2 Kanakuk Parents,
Day 2!! It's a crazy, jam packed, sleepin' in, fried chicken kind of day...kampers are having a blast and again we all feel so humbled to have each of them here...THANK YOU!

Devo: None...it's Sunday and we have church.
Verse of the Day: None...it's Sunday and we have church.

Morning: We let them sleep in (always on Sunday). Had Koffee Kake and then church! It's an amazing place to be able to sit in a church that is overlooking a bazillion dollar view and listen to THE BEST SPEAKER IN THE WORLD (my husband spoke today...I'm a bit biased). He talked about MOMENTS. Moments in our lives that change us, change the course of our journey. Speaking about kamp could be a moment if they allow their heart to be open to Jesus and His love for them. It was a perfect opening Sunday message!

Afternoon: Lots of stuff...This is "stuff" day. We go through the kamp rules, how we want each to feel safe and secure and if they ever are not the different outlets they can share that with, take a swim test, get their new kamp clothing and take a cabin photo and then just have a ball...slip n slide, sno cones, pool, volleyball tournament, etc etc etc...

Treetops/Trips: None yet. They start tomorrow.

Night: PARTY AND TRIBALS! Woohoo! We had our Bedrock Blowout party and it was a blast. They ran around as a kabin looking for hidden people that had a dinosaur skeleton they had to assemble. The clues were lyrics to songs and they had to sing them to get the clue. I think a guys cabin won and everyone had a ball! Then they headed to tribals for each new kamper to get their tribe (Kiowa/Kickapoo are the 2 options for girls). If your daughter writes you and she says she is a kiowa you can send a fun package with red and white stuff. If she is a kickapoo they are yellow and blue. They love dressing in their tribal colors!

I am so excited you are checking in and please let me know if I can do anything for you all.

Window to their World,
