June 21...

Hey K2 Kanakuk T23 Parents,
What a day! An awecrepic normal day! We love those at K2...well, at least this director does! I had a lightbulb moment today. I actually got pulled from our staff small group time because a kamper really wanted to go home and was asking to call her mom. This is by no means a prison but usually with that they get a director involved. I met at the porch of the office with the most precious, lovely, respectful, broken, hurting little girl. I saw my firstborn and secondborn in her as I listened to her hearts and her hurts. She knows Jesus but the world of parties, "cool" friends and boyfriends has pulled her in and she doesn't see how life would be better to walk with Jesus. By the end of the conversation it had reignited my heart for this ministry. She was way on board with staying because she wants to walk passionatlely with Jesus but just doesn't think that's reality...oh I'm praying Jesus would show up in her heart in a REAL REAL personal way. I don't share this for you to sit at home and panic wondering who the girl is...I share it to say God changes hearts here. Not everyone...and for some Jesus gets replaced with kamp sometimes so it fades quickly when they leave...but for this one I am praying it's a LIFE altering 22 days! Please Lord...let her and so many others hear you in the gentle whisper of their hearts!

Devo: Mark...of faith, favor, frankness, forgiveness and fortitude.

Morning: Normal periods 1-3. Treetops was cabins 17 and 18.

Afternoon: Normal periods 4-6.

Trip: Girls cabins 15-16 are on day #2 of K-Wet and I'm sure having a ball!

Night: WARBALL! This night is so fun! It's the Kiowas versus the Kickapoos in Warball (a lot like Dodgeball but cooler). We have a huge tournament and then we have a staff versus kampers game. It's intense and oddly enough the staff (way less of them) always wins...they are pretty competitive. We end the night with some delicious watermelon and I must admit I don't know which tribe won...hmmm?
