July 4...

{source}
Hey K2 Kanakuk Term 23/3 Parents,
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! Goodness, I started tearing up tonight during the fireworks as the Star Spangled Banner song rang through my ears. I am so thankful for all the men and women serving our country by risking their lives to protect it. Fireworks, root beer and theme music are so small in comparison of the applause and recognition our troops deserve! Happy 4th everyone!

The day was awesome! Classes, July 4th, our Redneck Olympics party and fireworks...that equals a great day!

Devo: Colossians...Life in Christ Alone.

Morning: Normal periods 1-3. Treetops was cabins 9 and 10.

Afternoon: Normal periods 4-5. (no 6th period b/c we had the party).

Trip: Girls cabin 15 & 16 are at K-Wild right now which is where they hike, rapel and do all kinds of cabin bonding! Girls cabin 13 & 14 are at K-Wet. They all got to come back for the fireworks show!

Night: REDNECK OLYMPICS! Party nights are so much fun! We had to shorten some things for this party since we had the fireworks show at 9 pm. So we had dinner and then we had all the kids come down for a hoedown with Dr. Joe White. Joe is really a great dance "caller." Ya know those guys that say "bow to your partner, now doe-see-doe." He has all these dances that he teaches the kids! It's a blast! We also had root beer and watermelon! Deeeelish! Then we had like an hour show of fireworks...maybe not an hour but really close! It was AWECREPIC!

Window to their World,
