On the Road Again...

Hey K2 Kanakuk Gals,
Well, how stinkin' cute is that picture above...I just love it! The Robbins' Fam is again on the road for another week and getting to stay with some of our sweetest friends! I just love getting to connect again! Anyways, as we were traveling in the Kanakuk Mini today I wondered if most people like road trips? Me, well, I like them if they are 3-4.5 hours long. That's right, after 4 hours I am pretty much done. I don't know what it is I just don't adore jumping in the van/car/any type of car and hitting the open road for a destination that is 5-12 hours away.

What about you? Do you love a good 16 hour road trip with your family? Friends? What is it about them that you love? How do you not get a little loopy in a smelly car/van and sick of potty breaks at, we'll call them, "interesting" places?

Random question...ponder and then get back to me! As for me...we are done with a road trip till Friday. Then we embark on an 8 hour one...yikes, pray now! Haha!

Home...

Tonight I am at home and feeling more blessed than ever. Shay and I were out on the Kanakuk Movie Tour this week and got to be with precious kamp families and got to travel with Joe White, our President and K2 Director. We are home with a heart full amazed with who we get to work for and that the Lord has brought us here.

We are home and tomorrow is pajama party Saturday for mom and Lulu! Woohoo! Movies, laundry, 8 week baby photo shoot, and maybe some apple cider since it is still chilly! Hope you all enjoy your weekend...what's everyone up to? Anything fun/exciting/new?

Road Trip for 1 More Week...

Hey K2 Friends,
Well, Shay and I (and Lulu) have been all over the place. We started last Saturday and headed to Shreveport, LA on Sunday. We have counted up that Lulu has been in like 5 states already...and she is only 8 weeks old. So crazy! We had such a great week out on the Kanakuk Movie Tour. We truly came back to Branson feeling overwhelmingly humbled by the families we got to meet and spend some time with. We got to go to Texarkana, TX/AR for the first time and met the dearest family! I just am continually in awe of the people that choose to open their homes to us (even with a newborn) and their lives to us to become dear friends. Goodness, being a part of the family of Christ is just so dear and authentic! As Nasa (ya know, our resident K2 rapper) would say...and we, PRAISE GOD!

OKLAHOMA CITY, & ST. LOUIS this next week!

On a side note I wanted to encourage each of you to SLOW DOWN this year. I actually had another image to upload that said "Slow Down or Die." I couldn't get it uploaded. Anyways, you girls are so very busy. As a 8th grader you are already thinking about ACT's and SAT's. As a sophomore your summers are full of summer school to get ahead. As a senior you have to know your major and have 24 college hours before you step foot on campus. That's just school...not to mention sports, organizations, and even church activities. My friends, I pray you slow down and enjoy relationships in your life so that you can hear the Lord in the gentle whisper of life. (I realize that sounds so cheesy...but serious! :)

Still a Winter Wonderland...

Hey Kanakuk Friends,

Well, I am typing as I sit in my house bundled in my Arkansas Razorback Snuggie (oh, yeah, I got one for Christmas) because in Branson today it is like -1 degrees and our heater in our house is having a tough time keeping up! The Branson kiddos have been out of school a whole week and I'm sure they are loving it! Shay and I leave today to start our trek to Louisiana. I am excited to see some dear friends down there! This will be our 2nd year to go on this trail and we are so blessed!

If you have snow, enjoy it! Go outside and be a kid...snowman, sledding, and snow ice cream!

A Look at being on the Road...

Hey friends,

Well, Shay and I are officially off the road for 1 week...well, and I'm officially off the road till January b/c I'm too close to our due date. Girls, this baby is due in 4 weeks....AHHH!! (that's me screaming somewhat out of panic and mostly out of joy/excitement).

We have been on the road with Kay Holliday, Keith Chancey (you gotta check out the Kanakuk Institute) and Will & Cindy Cunningham. We have had a ball! Lots of laughter, prayer, great conversation, and deeper friendships. We have been able to see and meet Kanakuk families that have been just incredible to be with even just for a few hours.

I am back in the office soon and have lots to catch up on. I'm sorry if you have emailed and haven't heard from me. I promise to email soon.

Memphis to Nashville...and more...

Hey friends,

Okay, I must admit my posts are not all that fun but I just have very very limited time while on the road to see you girls and families. I love traveling for Kamp and it is such a great time of adventure for Shay and I and whoever we happen to be with that week. This week we are with Will & Cindy Cunningham (the K-Kauai directors, that's our family kamp) and it has been a blast. At this moment Will is doing the Mom's Coffee and I am catching up on blogging...why not? Anyways, prayed for you girls today...prayed for your heart to love Jesus more each day.

We are in Memphis and headed to Nashville today. From there we are in Little Rock, AR Wednesday night and then Conway, AR (Kris Allen's hometown and Jordan Short's town) on Thursday. Woohoo! Then Shay and I are staying in Arkansas to get time with my parents and their church! It's going to be a crazy week with lots of fun people! Liberty, Missouri or Bust...

Hey K2 Friends,
Well, I only have a second but we are on the road again. We headed out yesterday for Wichita, KS and we will leave after the Mom's coffee here to go to Liberty, MO. (Side Note: then I'll be in Lee's Summit (Wedneday night) and then Columbia (Thursday night).

The baby is growing and I have an appointment on Friday for our 2 weeks check ups as they start. Please continue to pray for health for our sweet little one. I would also love for you all to be praying for the Kamp Movie Tour. We are spending this year to simply travel to come visit/love/serve our kamp families. Our kamp families are just unbelievable! I feel humbled and blessed by them. Please pray that we continue to simply love/serve as we are on the road.

I'll be in Springfield Saturday...

On February 28th (like THIS SATURDAY), Kanakuk Kamps is sponsoring the Wire Bike at the Springfield, Missouri Discovery Center’s Kids Camp and Educational Fair. It’s FREE and open to the public from 10am to 5pm. I’m going to be there! It will be great to see all the Kanakuk kids and families there. If you come, wear your Kanakuk shirts and bring your friends. We are going to pass out some T-shirts and just have a great time hanging out and riding the wire bike. Hope to see you there!!!

Kanakuk Movie Tour (Tulsa, OK)...

Hey Friends,
Well, I promise I have not become "unaddicted" to blogging. Still very addicted! (just so you are aware). I have however been on the CRAZIEST WEEK OF THE KANAKUK MOVIE TOUR! We traveled with Joe, you might know him. He spoke like 3-65 times a day in each town. It was so crazy, but so so so so so so so so (get my point) much fun! I don't have all my pics on the computer I'm on yet so for now here is the TULSA K2 Guys and gals! I loved seeing each of you in your own towns and it was just such a blessing to my heart to truly be reminded of my calling! Thank you!

p.s. It is so so icy here in B-town today! Like seriously icy/snowy/cold. I'm about to venture home so pray that I don't fall...I would fall with no one around and just start cracking up, unless I get injured.

Well, I am in Alexandria, LA about to head to another KMT (Kanakuk Movie Tour) show. These pics are from 2 nights ago in Monroe, LA. We had such a great time. More jumping stilts and ice cream...there is such a recurring theme with Shay and I's hang time with K2 friends...stilts + ice cream = CRAZY MADNESS!!!

Shreveport, Gumbo, Friends, & Jumping Stilts...

What a blast we had tonight. As we speak I am tucked into the cutest room at the most precious Bed & Breakfast. It's called Fairfield Place in Shreveport, LA. The families in Shreveport are INCREDIBLE!!! We had yummy gumbo, had a great show with lots of energy for kamp and new families, Kaleidoscoops with K2 friends, and now a great nice rest at Fairfield Place Bed & Breakfast! What a job!!!! We feel so blessed! K2 girls, thanks for letting me be a tiny part of your lives! You all bless me each day!

Louisiana or BUST...

Shay and I are headed to Louisiana this week. We drove 1/2 way to Cabot, AR (where my folks are) and we are headed out to Shreveport (I think that's our first town)...I get to see some AWESOME kampers tonight! I am so excited! Sorry it has been a couple of days. These weeks when it is shows where we recruit kampers, it is pretty tough to get time to blog. Anyways, we have had a blast this week. In Indianapolis, IN we had a great time with Emily Palmer and Katie Pittman! (far left and far right). And I met a sweet girl that is hopefully coming to K2 in 2010!
